Both Egypt and Senegal have had disappointing starts to the competition, but both will be hoping for an improved performance in their next FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup matches this weekend.
Egypt narrowly defeated host United Arab Emirates (UAE) 2-1 on the opening day of the tournament on Thursday.
After taking a two-goal lead, Hossam Paulo pulled one back for the North African team in the third period, but it didn’t help the Egyptians much and the hosts won a narrow victory.
On Friday, African champions Senegal faced Belarus, who narrowly defeated the African champions 6-4 despite not having much of the ball.
Senegal’s goals came from Mandiane Diagne’s brace and goals from Raul Mendy and Amar Sambu.
Egypt will return to action against Italy on Saturday, while Senegal will look for revenge against Colombia the following day.
