The first list of USA TODAY Restaurants of the Year was released today, featuring 47 restaurants from across the country, from fast casual to fine dining, Ethiopian to raw bar.

USA TODAY is calling on food journalists across the country to come together and recommend restaurants from the markets we cover – places we know, frequent and would recommend others to visit. Ta.

Deciding which Oklahoma City restaurants to make the list wasn’t easy.

Oklahoma City’s culinary industry continues to grow, with great new restaurants opening every year. As our city’s tastes expand and its citizens become more adventurous, chefs and cooks are able to push the envelope further, bringing new experiences to our doorstep.

Our standards are;USA TODAY’s 2024 Restaurants of the Year: How the Best Restaurants List Is Determined

No longer the land of chicken-fried steaks and onion burgers, and while those dishes still do very well, Oklahoma, led by Oklahoma City, is expanding into a gourmet destination in its own right. We should all be proud that our city has a restaurant on the 2024 USA TODAY Restaurant of the Year list. Not every city gets that honor.

And, of course, you could suggest the names of 50 other restaurants on the other side of the subway. But here, in no particular order, are some other Oklahoma City spots worthy of Restaurant of the Year honors. list.

Sedalia's Oysters and Seafood in Oklahoma City

I didn’t give any advice on menu choices and let them choose, but I’m glad, as always, that Florence’s Yamed Fried Chicken continues to win people’s hearts . But in reality, there aren’t that many menu items that don’t leave you happier than you were before you entered.
