Google rolls out ‘Android Safe Browsing’ feature for apps on Galaxy and Pixel devices

If you’re using a Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel smartphone, you’ll be able to take advantage of the new “Android Safe Browsing” feature within the app. This new tool is another Android security enhancement in Google’s arsenal against increasingly sneaky malware and phishing scams.

As Android expert Mishaal Rahman explained in a post revealing the feature, “Android Safe Browsing protects you from security-sensitive links, web pages, etc. when you browse within supported apps. Alerts you about threats. For example, when you tap a link, you may see a warning.” News apps redirect you to known phishing sites. ” Basically, its function is to add an extra layer of protection when you tap on his web links within the app.
It’s like the warning you see in the Chrome browser when you try to navigate to a dangerous link. Android Safe Browsing works similarly by leveraging Google’s extensive database of known threats. At this time, the app does not appear under Supported Apps. This suggests that apps should take advantage of the “SafetyNet” safe browsing API, as observed by Mishal. This allows your app to determine if a URL has been marked by Google as a known threat. .

So far, this new feature has only been available on Pixel devices.[設定]>[セキュリティとプライバシー]>[セキュリティとプライバシーの詳細]on Samsung Galaxy devices.[設定]>[セキュリティとプライバシー]It is discovered by moving to . However, the rollout appears to be gradual and controlled by Google’s servers, which would explain why it’s not available to everyone yet.

This seems like a feature that every Android smartphone should have, but it’s unclear at this point whether this will be exclusive to Pixel and Galaxy. At this point, it appears that most phones using Google Play Services, as well as certain devices, will eventually get this update. So I hope exclusivity isn’t an issue.
