They added that they were “surprised by how small it was.”
Another user said, “Really great service. For reference, I have 42,000 photos and 2,6,000 videos. It takes up 9GB on my device and 654GB on iCloud.”
What is iPhone storage optimization?
Optimize iPhone Storage is a special setting that offloads photos and videos to iCloud.
It also keeps low-resolution versions of these files on your device and accesses the full versions only when needed.
“By default, photos and videos are saved on your device in their original, high-resolution versions,” Apple explained.
“This means using up a lot of space on your iPhone or iPad.
“iCloud Photos gives you access to your entire collection in full resolution, wherever you are, while freeing up more space on your device.”
To set up iCloud Photos,[設定]>[設定]Go to. [Your Name] > iCloud > Photos.
Then tap Sync this iPhone, turn on iCloud Photos, and select Optimize iPhone Storage.
“When you turn on Storage Optimization, your full-resolution photos and videos are stored in iCloud and a space-saving copy is saved on your device when needed,” Apple says.
“You can store as many photos and videos as you want, as long as you have enough space in iCloud.”
The main problem you may encounter is lack of space.
iCloud comes standard with 5GB of free storage, but you have to pay to unlock more.
