Since Android 15 is still using its internal code name, he calls the release “Android V,” short for Vanilla Ice Cream.
“Is it reasonable to wait until Android V is available? The first developer preview is scheduled for February 15th,” says an anonymous developer.
Considering that the Android 14 developer preview went live on February 8th last year, it’s not too surprising that the Android developer preview is being released this week.
The first developer preview doesn’t give us much insight into the new consumer features coming in the next version of Android. It tends to be quite slow at Google I/O, which usually takes place in early May.
Instead, developer previews typically include new and updated APIs and backend tools so app creators can start preparing to update their applications for the next operating system. .
The developer preview may provide some hints at the steps Google plans to take in 2024.
