A Texas pastor was fired in 2011 for a “pattern of predatory manipulation, sexual exploitation, and abuse of influence,” including with minors.
Aaron Ivey engaged in “inappropriate and explicit communications, lewd conduct, and use of alcohol and illegal drugs” with minors in 2011, according to a Sunday post from elders at Austin Stone Community Church. The church said he had “inappropriate and explicit” communications and behavior with three adult men since 2020.
Ivey did not respond to requests for comment via social media, and his wife did not respond to an email Monday.

The layoffs took place earlier this month.
The church announced on February 5 that it had fired Ivey after learning the day before that he had been “continuing to exchange inappropriate and explicit text messages” with the man. The church cited “biblical standards” for dismissal.
The church said it reported its findings to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the Austin Police Department.
Reached for comment by the Austin American-Statesman, a member of the USA TODAY Network, law enforcement officials said they could not find any cases or incidents related to Ivey. Department of Family and Protective Services spokesman Mark Wilson said all case information is “confidential” and referred the paper to local law enforcement.

Austin Stone Community Church did not respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment.
Podcaster’s wife pauses book tour, deletes social media
The website aaronivey.com and social media associated with Aaron Ivey have been removed. The Statesman reached out to Ivey via social media before it was removed, but did not receive a response.
Ivy is the husband of podcaster and author Jamie Ivy.
In an Instagram post credited to “Jamie’s Team,” she announced that she was suspending all public appearances. “On her behalf, our team asks for prayers and support for all those affected,” her post reads.
