USA Basketball has announced the 12-man roster for the two America Cup qualifying games later this month, according to a press release written by Michael Terry. The U.S. team will face Cuba on February 22nd in Kissimmee, Florida, before heading to Cuba for the second game on February 25th.

According to the release, the preliminary round will consist of 16 teams divided into four team groups. Each team will play each opponent in its group twice, once at home and once away. The top three teams from each group (12 teams total) will advance to next year’s America Cup, which will be held in Managua, Nicaragua, August 23-31, 2025.
Team USA has won the America Cup seven times, the last time in 2017, Terry said. Team USA won the bronze medal in 2022, the last time the tournament was held.
