Zanle led China to the gold medal in the relay. This is the first time that a Chinese male athlete has won a medal in the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay.
Zhanle’s swim marked China’s first world record in men’s sprint events in both LCM and SCM. For Pan setting the world record he will earn a bonus of 30,000 USD.
Zanre was noticeably slower during the split this morning as he split a flying start on the anchor leg in 48.26 seconds. Clearly, Pan stepped up a new gear in tonight’s final.
