Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer threatened that U.S. troops could be “fighting among NATO allies in Eastern Europe within a few years” if Congress does not pass the Senate’s bipartisan border agreement.

during monday interview On MSNBC, Schumer highlighted the bipartisan national security bill being proposed in the Senate. The bill includes $60 billion in funding for Ukraine, $20 billion for border security, and additional funding for Israel.

Schumer claimed that negotiations on the bipartisan bill “took a long time” and that the bill “went off track multiple times.” “History will look back and say, ‘Did America fail itself?'” the majority leader said.

Schumer added that the proposed legislation is “critically important,” adding, “If we don’t help Ukraine, President Putin will walk all over Ukraine, we’ll lose the war, and within a few years we’ll be in the East.” “We may end up fighting NATO allies in Europe.” Year. Americans won’t like it. ”

Schumer claimed that unless the United States quickly provides aid to protect Israel from Hamas terrorists, wars in the Middle East will “continue to drag on and on.” Appealing to Democrats, Schumer also argued that the U.S. needs to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, saying that if the U.S. doesn’t pass the bill quickly, “hundreds of thousands of people could starve to death.” Yes,” he suggested.

“Too many Republicans, including Speaker Johnson, are deathly afraid of Donald Trump,” Schumer told MSNBC. “Donald Trump said he wants chaos. Donald Trump is saying, ‘Wait until I’m president,’ which will take at least a year.” Ukraine may disappear. Borders will get even worse. Wars in the Middle East will get even worse. ”

Schumer argued that the Senate’s border deal depends on senators “doing the right thing for America.” The Democrat attacked the former president and questioned whether his fellow senators would be able to ” drown out the political noise of Trump and his minions” and vote in favor of the bill.

In contrast to Schumer, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) warned The proposed bill would be “dead on arrival” once it reaches the House of Commons. Republican leaders warned that the Senate bill is “even worse than we expected” and that the bill will not end the current “border catastrophe” under the Biden administration.
