“I didn’t think about that when I was acting because I was so immersed in the character and focused on the emotional part. But in the end, I realized that it was a sign of female strength. “I was proud of that later,” Tseng explained.
Hong knows that “the ratio of women to men in STEM is very different,” and echoed her sense of pride, recalling a recent conversation that “almost brought me to tears.”
“We should be proud. Shit, yeah. Last night I met someone named Vicki. He’s a real astrophysicist, a woman in science. And she’s young. She’s She’s in her 30s or so, early 30s, and she came in and said to me last night, she was like, “Thank you, I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen myself on screen.”
“I thought, ‘Oh, shit, this is what we’re doing, so that people can empathize and see themselves.'” And hopefully not just scientists. We believe that we are also involved in this problem,” Hong added.

“Needless to say, we’re so proud to play these strong female characters. They’re not just strong because they act like men, they’re strong because they feel everything. They’re strong at their core.
