2024 Cincinnati Business Achievement Award Winners Announced

The 2024 Cincinnati Business Achievement Awards, sponsored by the University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business Alumni Association, will recognize winners on March 7 at Cincinnati Music Hall.

This award ceremony reflects one of the preeminent awards in Cincinnati’s business community. The annual ceremony recognizes Lindner alumni and Cincinnati business professionals who have achieved great success in their careers and industries, and who have demonstrated a continued commitment to serving their communities.

“The Cincinnati Business Achievement Awards not only recognizes truly exemplary honorees, but this event honors the communities we care about and serve,” said Lindner Dean Marian Lewis. said the doctor. “In partnership with these influential alumni, Cincinnati businesses and students, we will learn and grow together. Carl H. Lindner Award for Outstanding Business Achievement

The Carl H. Lindner Award for Outstanding Business Achievement recognizes Lindner graduates who have achieved the highest levels of professional and business success through entrepreneurship and service to their communities. Bus ’92’s girlfriend Lynne Laube has taken her from her start at Capital One, when it was still a little-known start-up, to founding her own company and entering her venture into Capital One. embodies these qualities and more.

Laube is dedicated to continuing her engagement with the Lindner community and is the keynote speaker at Lindner Women in Business’ 2023 Empowerment Day.

“During my time at the University of California, for the first time in my life, I really felt that I could do anything and be anything,” Laube recalled. “There are very few female founders and very few female CEOs, and even fewer who have been both. I feel a strong need to help others do the same. Working with young students is my passion, and supporting UC allows me to do both.”

Laube is the second woman in CBAA history to earn this prestigious honor.

Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes those who have demonstrated significant contributions to Lindner, the University of California, and the Cincinnati business community.

Jerry Fritz, Bass ’73, former president of Kent Precision Foods Group

Jerry Fritz, Bass ’73, is a lifelong Bearcat. Mr. Fritz is president of Precision Foods, a group specializing in food and beverage products and ingredients, where he served for more than 22 years before transferring his passion for business and community to the University of California with Mr. Lindner. did.

Fritz serves on the Lindner Business Advisory Board, the University of California Foundation Board of Directors, and currently serves as president of the University of California Alumni Association.

“I am honored to be mentioned in the same context as past recipients,” Fritz said. “I believe that my contributions and service have been more than rewarded by the friendships, people, and students I have had the pleasure of knowing.”

Mario San Marco moved to Cincinnati in 1988 and joined Western & Southern’s Eagle Realty Group as vice president, director of investment properties and general manager. Since then, San Marco has served as Eagle Realty Group’s president and most recently as Western & Southern’s senior vice president of economic development.

Mr. San Marco’s passion for real estate led him to become involved with the University of California Real Estate Center, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Real Estate Advisors (BEARE).

“On behalf of the many people who have supported the UC real estate program, I am honored to receive this Distinguished Service Award from the Lindner School of Business,” Sanmarco said. “This recognition validates the hard work and dedication of all the individuals who volunteer their time, making this program one of the most prestigious real estate programs in the United States.”

The Business Partnership Award recognizes companies that have made significant, innovative, and sustained investments in Lindner, helping sustain program excellence and providing growth opportunities for business students and graduates.

Cintas proudly supports Lindner and demonstrates this through its many partnerships with Lindner centers and programs, including Business Fellows, First Year Experience, and the Professional Selling Center.

“With experiential learning and connections with top business leaders, Lindner graduates are ready to step into the role and succeed,” said Scott Garula, President and Chief Operating Officer, Rental Division, Cintas Corporation. Mr. testifies. “Our focus on critical thinking and problem-solving is consistent with some of Cintas’ core characteristics, including our active dissatisfaction, sense of urgency, and thoroughness, and is why so many U.C. and Lindner School alumni have made significant contributions to our success.”

Outstanding Young Alumni Award

The Outstanding Young Alumni Award (formerly the PACEsetter Award) recognizes Lindner alumni under the age of 40 who have demonstrated new and unique innovation, creativity, and success in their careers and have demonstrated commitment to Lindner and the University of California.

Nicholas Puncer, Bus ’10, has dedicated his career to Barr & Gaynor, starting as an intern there during his time at Lindner. As a student, Panther was a Kautz-Uble Fellow and a member of the Lindner Business Honors Program. He currently serves as Managing Director of Institutional Products for Bahl & Gaynor.

“I am a credit to my longtime supporters who have supported me throughout my career, going back to my time at UC and beyond,” Panther said. “I stand on the shoulders of giants, so it is my responsibility to serve those who are starting out on their own path.”

Each year, the CBAA awards one of two awards to two recipients: the Carl H. Lindner Outstanding Junior Scholarship and the Heart of William J. Keating Leadership Award.

One of the oldest scholarships at the University of California bearing Lindner’s name, the Carl H. Lindner Distinguished Junior Scholarship recognizes the undergraduate student who best exemplifies the energy, dedication, and creativity of Carl H. Lindner. Their dedication and contribution to UC as demonstrated through their classroom activities.

The Heart of William J. Keating Leadership Award and Scholarship is named for prominent Cincinnati attorney William (Bill) Keating, Jr., who served as chairman of the Lindner Business Advisory Council. in honor of his many years of accomplishments. When Keating passed away in 2017, David Szymanski, former dean of the Lindner College of Business, created the Heart of William to recognize junior business students who have made outstanding contributions to the university and the community.・Established the J. Keating Jr. Leadership Award.

Both student award winners will be announced and recognized at the CBAA ceremony on March 7th.
